FAQ
Do you have a studio?
No. Melissa Berg Photography only does outdoor on location portrait and engagement sessions. The location can be picked by you, or I can make suggestions on locations that offer appealing backgrounds in the Raleigh/Cary/Durham areas. Will travel to surrounding areas for a travel fee.
What is your experience?
I have been an avid amateur photographer for over 10 years and have shot both film and digital. I have a love for macro photography and paying attention to detail in general..(have you seen my wedding planning blog?) ;). I bought my DSLR about a year ago and ever since I graduated nursing school in May, I have found the time to really hone in on my skills and pursue my dream of being a serious photographer.
When do you schedule portrait and engagement sessions?
Sessions are scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays at 4pm. If you need to meet during the week, arrangements can be made if my schedule allows.
Do you offer online proofing and ordering?
I do! Melissa Berg Photography has partnered with Pictage.com. Once you book with me, you will receive an email with a link to your pre-scheduled event where your photos will be uploaded to. Every client receives a $5.00 print credit. Make sure you add the email addresses of friends and family, so they can view your photos and purchase prints.
WIll my photos be edited?
Yes! Images will have basic editing performed. You have the option to change any photo in your gallery to black and white or sepia tone at no charge. Additional retouches are priced at $10 per image.
Will I own the copyright to the photographs?
Copyright remains with the photographer. If you choose to purchase your high resolution image files on CD, you will receive a letter granting you reprint permission. Reprints can be made on any image provided on the CD and there is no limit to the number of photos that you may reprint for your own personal, non-commercial use. Photos may be uploaded and posted online by you with photographer credit given in the form of a link to my website.
What are your prices?
Currently, I am offering family portrait, child portrait, pet portrait and engagement sessions at a "Portfolio Building Discounted Rate” when you book a session before 12/31/09. Please email info@melissabergphotography.com for details on pricing and packages.
How long does it take to get my pictures?
For portraiture, blog posts with teaser photos of your session will be posted within 2-3 days. Online galleries are uploaded within 1-2 weeks and CD's purchased can be mailed to your home within 2-3 weeks.
